Well, I have not been blogging or facebooking much lately.  Alex and I went to OK to see Deyrl's grandma and we were gone for 11 days.  She used to have an antique booth and a couple of years ago, they got out of the "junk" business as we all called it.  She has been wanting to have a garage sale and we finally figured out a time that worked for us to go help her with it.  We had so much fun and were able to take my sister with us.  Of course someone had to be there to make sure that she wasn't putting family heirlooms into the garage sale.  Of course she tried a couple and there may have been others I didn't catch, but I don't know.

Well, we are home now, and finally yesterday was our first real day at home without much to do, so we took advantage of that and did nothing.  Today, however, is another story.  I have to get stuff ready for a host (I am a Pampered Chef consultant), vote, have school, and there is some cooking I'd like to do.  Oh and did I mention that thing that NEVER goes away, LAUNDRY!!  Of course there is some cleaning I'd like to do, but something will probably have to wait until tomorrow, but we'll see.

I have some pictures I need to post, I'll get to that later this week.

Have a wonderful day.

Today, Alex isn't feeling well, but she still wanted to have school so we started a new workbook about maps.  We memorized Proverbs 9:10  "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
She was so excited and I was so proud of her.  She can't wait to tell daddy!

Tomorrow we get to do art and it is exploration day - as long as the weather holds up we get to spend most of the day exploring God's World!

I love my life!!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Tanner's Orchard Field Trip

Yesterday, we were able to go on a field trip.  We drove about 1 1/2 hrs to Tanner's Orchard.  It was beautiful and so much fun.  We learned a lot, made new friends, picked apples, played, got to see animals (Alex said her favorite was the llamas) and of course got to do some shopping!
The kids were very interested in the fact that they have bees brought in the spring to pollinate the trees.  Also we learned that the average apple tree produces good apples for 15-25 years, depending on the ground and the weather.

The cider was YUMMY, by the way!
This was Ben, our tour guide.  He was funny!
This was actually before we got going and she was not really wanting to pose for pictures.

A view of the summer!

On vacation.  With Aunt Donna and Joe.  So fun!!  She loves them because they do whatever she wants them to do!!

At the fair (we were watching the "whip guy" in conservation world!  She was fascinated!

The last day of swim lessons.  She really improved this summer.
It has been a fun-filled summer.  We have enjoyed vacation, swim lessons, frequent park days, the fair and so much more.  I am honestly glad to start school and try to get back into a routine.  At the end of last year, Alex was struggling with a few things and now that we started school, she is wanting to do those things.  She is really wanting to read proficiently and she is loving writing and math.  I am thrilled that she is liking math - I hated math when I was in school!!

Alex's 6th birthday!  She got Lanie the American Girl doll of the year.  She was sooooo excited and takes her everywhere!
One of our trips to the park.  The whole gang.  We had such a nice day and so much fun!!
Helping dad put up her playset in the backyard!  She was so happy and thanked him at least 10 times.  It was so sweet!!
We started reviewing and finishing up some of our leftover stuff from last year a couple of weeks ago and spent 2 weeks refreshing our minds and remembering.  Now we are all set to start our curriculum.  We love science.  Anything outside and we really love experiments.  So, this year is going to be a fun-filled year full of learning and doing experiments and having fun with all of our friends!!  Here is an overview of our summer.
